Sierra High suffered a discouraging O-8 record in l957, but came back strong in '58 to tie Arroyo and San Gabriel for the Sierra League title. The Spartans, starting off against always dangerous El Rancho, showed great promise as they were barely edged 14-7. Sierra football hit a new low in the second game of the practice season, how.ever, when the Warren Bears ran over the Spartans 25-O. ln its second meeting with a district school, the Spartan varsity showed evi- dence of a great future as it played the Santa Fe Chiefs to a scoreless tie.
