H. Nl. l'inafore H.M.S. Pinafore, the Gilbert and Sullivan classic, was pro- duced by the Siena choristers on May 24 and 26 before capac- ity crowds. The audiences thrilled to the enchanting times unfolding the romance of lose- phine, the Captains daughter, and Ralph, the humble sailor, The action takes place aboard ship CWe Sail the Ocean Blue.J The Captain fl am the Captain of the Pinaforel objects to the audacity of the lowly tar in as- piring to his daughter's hand CA Maiden Fair to Seel. Consist- ently, the Captain feels that he himself cannot marry Buttercup, the Buxom little peddler who sells to the sailors Snuff and tobaccy and ribbins and laces to set off the faces of pretty young sweethearts and Wives Cl'm Called Little Buttercupl. Little Buttercup then solves the problem by disclosing that as babies, the Captain and Ralph the sailor, had been entrusted to her care, that the babies be- came mixed and that the Cap- tain is really the sailor, while the sailor is the Captain CThings are Seldom What they Seeml.
