Although no one can deny these milestones, the continuity of our years at Siena is even more prevalent. Many people and events maintain this continuim. The people, of course, include all teachers, faculty, and staff that return year after year to share their lives with us, as well as the students who bring with them their laughter and tears. This year included yet another dimension of continu- ity e the 50th Anniversary. Begun at the end of last year, the celebration came into full bloom this school year. Our golden anniversary celebration is a theme of great significance. For Siena, gold is a symbol of excellence both of past experiences and future endeavors. This year too, will draw to a close, but the people of the Siena community have lived the Franciscan tradition and will carry the golden flame of faith into the world. 2 - Opening Opening - 3 he word gold conjures up many different images. We decided to emphasize this golden anni- versary by developing a theme around NAll that glitters is gold. Siena is a gold- en place, with golden people. Without the help of such golden people as Jim Knust, Shirley Tardiff, Howard Seidler, Bill and Peg Celano, Public Relations, Sports Information, Herff-Jones Publi- cations, Vardens Photographers, our section editors, and our staff we could never have accomplished this momen- tous task. The journey was far from easy, as those involved can attest to, but it was finally accomplished. Congratulations to Siena on its Golden Anniversary and t0 the class of 1988.
