Classes Classes Which class is most interesting to a high school pupil? Is it the freshman year, when one is just moving from a junior school to a highschool, when one feels quite childish one minute and grown up the next, when one meets one bewildering situation after another. Or is it the sophomore class, with the first feeling of really belonging in a high school, and therealization of the need to study to ac- quire a good educational foundation and to prepare for further study. Some believe the junior class is best, with its plans for social activities, its warm friend- ships, and the feeling of being almost there at the goal one has tried so hard to reach. Could it be the senior year, with the feeling that one of life's major milistones will soon be reached; that soon one must decide whether he will continue his education or put on one of Uncle Sam's uniforms or go to work, that there is a great deal of fun in the form of parties, dances and the final thrill of walking across the stage to receive from a smiling Board member a piece of paper stating that the recipient that is graduating from high school is beginning to have responsibilities of his own. Which class is most interesting? Could it be that each is most interesting at that time? Anyway, here are the four classes of the school year 1954-1955, typical groups of typical pupils. 18
