I STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS . . . gather in room 41 to study student affairs. They are Don Thompson, Ray Woodruff, and Don Berg in the front row, Nancy Allen, jim Howell, Phil Val- entine, Louis Blackford, and jodelle Blackston standing. Council and Patrol Always Be Courteous, Consider- ate, C0-operative, Calm, Cheerful were the ABC's suggested by the Stu- dent Council during the annual cam- paign for better citizenship. The theme for the campaign was Be a Credit to Your School. The courtesy campaign is just one of the many projects that the Council sponsors. Others are the pre- sale of football and basketball tick- ets, honor roll Computation, fire drills, locker clean-ups, and the one-way traffic plan. The two biggest projects of the Council are the publishing of the Student Handbook and the hiring of professional talent for assembly pro- grams. The special programs pre- sented in 1956-1957 were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ackerman, experts on Central Latin America, Tade Sztukag a Polish-American tenor presenting music from the Gay Nineties to Broadway , the Faculty String Quar- tet from Capital Universityg a group of students from the Ohio State School for the Blindg the Miami University Glee Club: and Jeff Hayes, cartoon- ISI.
