NOT THE FARMERS IN THE DELL. BUT Gary Baker Roger Shoffner and Edward Lyons members of the Ag Department. These boys are working on their summer project Learn It f Doing Practice makes perfect! The agriculture and business departments prove this by turning out top-notch farmers and secretaries. While the Ag boys plow their fields and learn soil conservation, the future secretaries are studying dictation, the operation of machines, and office conduct. The Ag Department carries on projects throughout the year. The boys raise dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, poultry, and hogs. They raise corn, wheat, oats, and soy beans. They learn about the general maintenance of farms, and the operation of farm machinery. The boys partici- pate in the state and district contests in livestock and crop judging and also machinery practices. In the business department the girls learn to write business letters and improve the speed of their typing and shorthand. Sidney High has numerous machines which the girls learn to run. Good business etiquette is taught. Both the guys and gals at SHS are kept busy just learning the do's and don't's of their professions. Copeland Re rlgemtmu Co

As Uur Faltering Steps Become Sure Most of us at one time or another have heard someone utter the proverbial, I wish I were in your shoes. If the wish came true and you were in our shoes, you would have many wonderful experiences in store for you. The first few days in Sidney High are filled with hesitant, unsure footsteps. Through the next six years the self-confidence and wisdom gained steady the footsteps and they ring loud and clear down the halls. If you were in our shoes, you would attend the football games cheering for the SHS Yellow jackets, burst with pride at the sight of our all- boy band, and perhaps attend the dances held after the games. You might hear our talented vocal groups at their annual concert, enjoy fine dramatic readings of the speech department members, laugh with the crowd at class plays, or scurry around with our news hounds in search of scoops. And, of course, you would Footprints on the sands of time are never made sitting down. 5 burn the midnight oil in a variety of subjects from Latin to agriculture, algebra to shorthand preparing for exams and scholarship tests. Yes, if you were in our shoes, you would meet some of the greatest students and teachers in school and you would feel with the seniors the reluctance to leave it all on the night of commencement.
