The annual staff Works hard every fifth period to pro- duce a book worth the price paid for it. Various kinds of work are connected with the publishing of an annual. Pictures are to be mounted, copy to be composed, and heads to be written: these are just a few of the tasks each member has to perform. Sharon Garrett, editor-in-chief, and Phil Carey, business man- ager, kept the book going. With Sharon supervising and Phil taking care of the money, the book got well under Way. 46' U ,9 Imagine a play that has no scenery or sound effects and with the performers minus the make-up which enhances their parts and helps put them into character. SHS need never fear such a situation. Through the combined efforts of the stage and make-up crew at Sidney High the annual presentations, such as the plays, operetta, and vocal and band concerts, are given the final polish which makes them more appealing to the audiences. Miss Olive Owens oversees the organization of the make-up crew. Darlene Litton was the student chairman at the beginning of the year. Mr. Angerer directed his Manual Training boys in painting and constructing the necessary properties needed for each production. Doris Harp, copy editor, as- signed aritcles to her copywriters and they in turn wrote the copy for the book. lim Santo, circulation manager, and Phil Freytag, advertising manager, took care of selling the copies and getting the advertising. They both had committees to Work with them. Buzz Getrost, sports editor, took care of sports copy and the tak- ing of sports activity pictures. Gary Gooder, photography manager, took many snapshots tor the yearbook. The book was produced under the supervision of Mrs. Blust, who helped everyone so they could do their job Without too many mistakes.
