mzan, qoaL ng, The junror class wh1ch entered Srdney Hrgh three years ago had been very actrve rn the past and expected to be even more act1ve when lt took 1ts place as the semor class for the school year 1950 1951 Athletrcs IS a very 1mportant part of the school lxfe of the junxors Elght 1un1or boys re cerved vars1ty letters th1s year for part1c1pat1on 1n football As basketball rolled around the junror class was not to b caught napp1ng and two Jumor boys made the f11'Sl f1Ve The junlors were also proud of therr track golf baseball tennls enthuslasts Not to be out done by the boys the weaker sex had 1ts athletic Slde too The GAA 1S one of the organrzatrons wh1ch the grrls really go for 1n a b1g way Many junrors partlclpated 1n rnterscholastrc volleyball and basketball as well as rntramurals The frrst b1g event for thrs class was the Freshmen Party rn 1948 The next year Ann Stump and Dale Speckman were elected Pnnce and Prmcess of the Hlgh Note Hop Th1s year was the f1rst year that the jumors had ever attempted to put on anyth1ng publlc hke a play but they worked hard on stagmg sound effects learnmg l1nes and all the other essentlal thmgs wh1ch make a good produc t1on They were proud to present Trsh as thelr yumor class play Muslcally the Jumors boast many members who are active rn the all boy band the senlor orchestra boys glee club g1rls glee club and mlxed chorus In Sclence Club YTeens H1Y FFA FTA the 11st could go on 1ndef1n1tely ln all the1r GCt1V1tleS the juntors had a will to do thmgs 1n the best way possrble especrally when at the last of the year they held the Iunror Semor Prom rn honor of the class of 1950 The juruors worked hard to make the prom a success and as xt was therr fmal tnbute to therr predecessors they wanted rt to be the best Prom umm Www Pflvlafd Walt Drckhaut played center on the football team and was a member of the band and mixed chorus as well as betng chief executrve of the Junior class Also sports rnrnded was our vxce presrdent George Clayton Sleepy played guard on the hrst flve of the basketball team Betty Merncks has been a 4 O0 student frequently through out her hrgh school career She also kept the mmutes of her class A forward on the gxrls serve basketball team Betty Lou Hrggrns also found txme to be a reporter on the news staff and handled the fmancral deals of the juniors Left to nqht Betty Hxggms Betty Merncks George Clayton Walter Dxckhaut Best Wfzshes from Electro Hygzene Co Alutual Federal Savmgs and Loan Ass'n 30 Monarch Cleaners C.
