Ee. hefw 42 From ur Point of View - the Semors Our class of '59 has had exciting, stimulating, challenging, and educational ex- periences these past four years within Sidney High School. We have grown into adults who after graduation will go into the world to make our own lives. Perhaps Sidney High has not made scholars out of each and every one of us for it is not the purpose of education to mold all into scholars, but into better citizens. Our school has however given every individual one of us an opportunity to express himself and develop. It has molded our minds and formed our skills to help us in the future we are looking forward to. We leave as testimony our feelings toward our school in the words of our spokes- men: Sidney High has indeed been good to me. It has been patient with me while I grew more mature throughout the three years I have attended it. It has never expected too much of me, yet enough that I felt there was always a challenge to achieve higher goals. During the course of my three year stay, it has, with the aid of the faculty and the student body, developed my personality and my character for better. It has taught me to cope with my problems and to better understand the problems of others. It has enriched my life through contacts with the faculty and fellow students. For these and other reasons far too numerous to mention here, I am truly grateful to Sidney High. -HOWARD MALEY In my years at Sidney High, I have learned to appreciate my studies and the values of self-government. -TOM HAUGAN In my years as a student, I realized as each year was behind me, the importance of my education. The teachers have always striven to help me set higher goals and reach them. They have been responsible for my new outlook on life and education. -GRETCHEN THOMPSON I feel that I have received the best education possible from this high school, and I am proud to say that I graduated from it. -SHARON CHRISTENSEN Sidney High School was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It has taught me to respect other people and to realize that the world would be rough to live in without friends and people to help in time of need. I have learned to help others and found out that teachers are not a bad bunch. -J IM WHITE The Juniors The juniors began a busy year by electing Connie Borg- mann, Terry Gillilandg Jerry Misegadis, Sylvia Philips, and Marianne Wilson to the Unicameral Legislature of Sidney High. Selling candy bars, running the concession stand to raise money for the important junior-senior banquet and prom, and presenting a class play was work, but by the time May came, what had seemed work suddenly became a memory of fun.
