In the league opener the Warriors defeated Walton on their home field 27-6. Sidney dominated the game on a rain drenched field. Walton's only score came on an intercepted fumble and 60 yard run. The game ofthe year was Chenango Forks and the Sidney boys were flying high for this one. In the see-saw battle the Warriors played their finest game of the year and broke the Fork's three-year unbeaten string 28-l4. Tied for first place Sidney traveled to Windsor for the last game. Victory would give Sidney the League Championship. However, that afternoon there was a nightmare in store for the Warriors as they fumbled and were intercepted ll times. Windsor won 42-25 and tied for first place with Chenango Forks. The Warriors had to settle for second place. To top off the season 10 Warriors were named to the Susquenango All-Star team. First team for the second year were G. Washington, who led the league in pass receptions for 2 years, and T. Grow, who was second team also. R. Mirabito was first team defensive back and second team wide receiver. Second team choices were D. Plummer and R. Voltz, running backs.-R. Robertson, linebacker and K. Smith, center. J.V. The team had won its last 9 league games including important wins over Whitney Point, Windsor and Newark Valley. The overall record of the team with two to go was 13-3. Chuck Marble and Vin Lynch led the team in scoring with averages of 20 pts. and 13 pts. a game respectively. The usually tough J.V. man to man defense was especially ten- acious allowing 51 points a game. The J.V. The highlight in the season was beating previously un- beaten Greene. Sidney won 7 ot' their last 8 games of the year. John Thomas was the leading hitter with a ,486 average, the highest since 1959. The pitching was led by Larry Halbert and Randy Winans. The J. V. team was I3 and 4, 6 and 3 in league, good enough for second place. Dave Howe did an outstanding job on the mound, with a record of 7-3, and also was a fine hitter. Dave was second to Rick Mirabito's .438 average, batting .426. Led by a starting five consisting of Dave Ballert, Jack Schmidt, Doug Cornforth, Bob Foree and Rich Winnick, the Warriors lost three dual matches. It was the last year that this group would be together. It all started three years ago and no one has ever bro- ken the first five. This year was supposed to be the year. This year the whole team was going to the state finals. Only Jack Schmidt proved himself worthy by plac- ing second in the sectionals and thus ad- vancing to the states. Dave Ballert was probably the most consistent player on the team and was given the MVP award. Four time winners Schmidt, Foree, Win- nickg three time winners were Dave Bal- lert and Doug Cornforth, and first time letter winners were Kevin Smith, John Ross and Dave Osborn. In the spring of 1975 the outlook looks pretty good. Juniors Dave Osborn and John Ross should pick up the slack. Mike Feltman, David Potter, Steve Zehner and Gary Elloitt will battle for the last two spots. Doug Cornforth being the only re- turning starter should bring both strength and tournament experience to the team. Bob Foree VARSITY GOLF: Back Row, l to r: J. Grover, D. Morrow says, Mrs. Weidman, you didn't tell me this was a dirty book. 'x lt seems like so long ago when we used to talk about being Seniors. Can you believe it has been here and it's gone already? We used to identify ourselves as members of the Class of '75 because that's what it said on our report cards, and on our class rings, but other than graduation, what reminded us that we were Seniors? Maybe it was the fact that we finally made it through high school and were ready to face the world alone. Our class was one to be proud of. We had many out- standing accomplishments both academically and athletic- ally. Sidney Senior High was honored to have 15 students receive Regents Scholarships. They were: John Cribbs, Cheryl Dyce, Gary Elliott, Michael Gregory, Linda King, Anna Lally, Ralph Maltese, William Martin, Ralph Meyer, Kathy Olmstead, David Radley, Keith Smith, Paul Weeks, Jeffrey Wilklow and Michael Wischhusen. Ralph Meyer had the highest score in Delaware County. The Betty Crocker Family Leader of Tomorrow award was won by Anna Lally, while Dawn Mayo won the DAR Good Citizen award. Mike Wischhusen won the Bausch and Lomb Award, while Jerry Coy won the Delhi Chemical Award. Linda King, Ralph Meyer, and Mike Wischhusen were selected to compete on It's Academic. Thinking back to the days before going to Senior High, most of us remember being the biggest of the smallest at the Pearl St. Elementary School, and getting lost in the Junior High. Our sophomore year brought us many changes. Senior High was a new challenge academicallyg it was now time to start thinking about our future. As Sophomores, we were welcomed to the Senior High by our new prin- cipal, Mr. Allen Duke. Our first election of class officers resulted with Jim Shupperd as President, Mike Laird as Vice President, Terry Davis as Secretary and Kathy Olm- stead as Treasurer. We also were given the privilege of cleaning the football field and remaining seated as the Seniors filed out of the auditorium ahead of everyone. Our junior year will always be remembered as the year the Regents were stolen in New York City. This seemed to take away some of the pressure on English and Social Studies Regents we all had to take. It was now up to our teachers to make up the substitute Regents! Our ju- nior year will also be remembered by those of us who traveled to Ireland with the band. It was during this year that the open-lunch was set up. As Juniors we elected Dan Hencken as our Class President, Mike Laird as Vice President, Terry Davis as Secretary and Rob Robertson as Treasurer. We also sent Dawn Mayo to Girl's State during the summer, while Jerry Coy, Jess J olmson, and Mike Wischhusen went to Boy's State. We started our senior year with a new President, after President Nixon resigned and Gerald Ford stepped up to n the executive position. As Seniors we elected Carolyn Ben- nett as President, Tim Elwood as Vice President, Theresa Ferraro as Secretary and Rob Robertson as Treasurer. We also welcomed Bodil Victorson, the foreign exchange stu- dent from Sweden. During the year Sidney supported a winning Football team, Wrestling team, Basketball and Rifle team. We also were honored to be the firs to receive colored Senior photographs. team t class Now, as Seniors, we wish each other the best of luck for future years. We hope our rewarding years together will have an effective influence upon whatever the future may bring. 55 ' 0 ' I - t 1 4 far-if 1 '- SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS: Treasurer: R. Robertson, President: C. Bodil was born in 1958 in Stockholm, Swe- den. She lives with her family in the town of Karlshomn, which is located on the south coast. Her main ambition in life is to become a music teacher, a field in which she is more than qualified. Her biggest interests are music and golf. Those of you who saw the Reflector talent show in January had the pleasure of watching Bodil perform. Besides having exceptional playing ability on the piano and twelve- string guitar, she also has an outstanding singing voice. About Sidney, Bodil had the following to say, 'The people are very friendly and understanding. I dream about coming back sometime in the future. The thing she hated most was leaving a place she might never see again. While in Sidney, Bodil stayed with the Warren Cole family, the John Rusnak fam- ily, the Jerome Dombrowski family and the Bernard Ford family. Bodil is going home around the first of July. She has been to New York twice and went to Wash- ington, D.C. with a group of exchange students in February. She also accompanied the Rusnak family to North Carolina this past Christmas. Bodil had this to say about the school system back in Sweden. It is very different here than what I am used to back home. We have it more free. For example, twenty minute breaks after two periods. Study halls are more open and you can go outside or leave the school that period. The food is good here but when you get lonely you eat more, so it is easy to gain weight. Most of the exchange students do. But, I am going on a diet, I sure am. We hope Bodil enjoyed staying here as much as we enjoyed having her here. months in Australia. age. W... i s Pj. s v 4 1.
