Maroon Cv HE Maroon and White is the student news publication of the Sidney High School. This paper, which has a staff of high school students, is also edited by the students. The exact date of the first Maroon and White is not exactly known, but it can be placed at about 1925. In its earliest years, the Maroon and White was a four sheet mim eographed newspaper with monthly issues. It sold at five cents a copy and had a circu- lation of about one hundred As the Sidney school grew, so did the Maroon and White During the late twenties and early thirties the paper received the backing of several town merchants As a result it became a twelve page printed monthly magazine with more emphasis on the literary side than on news and White About 1935, the Maroon and White revert ed back to the mimeographed copy. It con- tinued to be mimeographed until this year. During those years between 1935 and 1951, the Maroon and White changed from a bi- monthly, to a monthly, to a semi-term paper and back again. No definite records have been kept to show the number of is- sues each year.
