fe' Boys Glee Club 'Third Row Don Brooks Cary Dryden David Hardman Ronald Fletcher Tommy Wilkie Lewis Butts David Ruse Pat Mullannax Richard Melville Second Row Buddy Cloyd lack Stotts David Greedy Eugene Pierce Charles Sargent Don Fredrickson jim Rawlins Tommy johnson David Mather First Row Keith Cowden Roger Crouse Kenneth Wyatt jimmy Nenneman Larry Ballinger Billy Haun Gary Curtis David Haning ir 'k The High School Band started the year with none too bright an outlook due to the large number of graduates who left big holes in the band ranks Beginners filled in with much enthusiasm and the marching band enloycd a successful season The band drilled at all home football games band festival at the local rodeo field drilled and paraded at Plattsmouth Nebraska Shenandoah Hamburg Griswold and Tabor for local celebrations The sea on was successful down to the cloe with an excellent rating at the tate marching band contest Much new equipment has been added to our band making it one of the Hne t equipped and uniformed bands for schools of our class in Southwest Iowa Though nearly half of the bands numbers may be counted in the grade chool feel a growing spirit of enthusiasm which spells future success for the Sidney High School tretched the tage and sent parents home from the concert thrilling to the attainment of o many xoice Starting the lat half of the year the concert band girls glee club and mixed chorus hcgan drilling for the spring festival and concert Sidney groups and oloists were well renewed at the county music festival held at Hamburg We had a field day at the Tarkio fe tnal bringing home Superior ratings for the girls glee club mixed chorus extette and an excellent rating for the band As this goes to press contest work in Iowa is ju t getting under way with the large group contest yet to come Up to the time soloists and small groups haxc performed well and we expect a greater number to participate next ycar encouraged by uctc J thc ethi 3 r is -35 L1 14149 5,11 KX!
