Class One brrght sunny mgrnmg rn september l936 group of twenty mne mothers ga hcred rn the Kxnder garten of the Srdney Consohdated Schools Wrth them were twenty mne red eyed boys and grrls who drdnt lake thrs rdea of school at all Mrss Herrrman was the teacher who welcomed thus group As we look back on rt now rt was really a soft year we got to lay on rugs hiteen mmutes rn the mornmg and fifteen minutes rn the afternoon lviargme Ettlernan was the apple of our eyes because when she came rt was rhythm band trme There were soon 28 drsgusted boys and glrls The one happy one was Edna Krncard You see she got to play the drums ln the rhythm hand Thls was lead hy Woody Van Eaton We all survived our Ktndergarten year and went back to enroll rn the first grade We lot Evelyn Rose lobe Xffaxrne Reed Mane Shoemaker Bryan Reynolds and Carol France Muse We garned Azerle Gardner R C Larrd Merle Zack Bxlly Scroggms and Thomas and Boaby Morris Mrss Stxckler was our teacher and Miss Luther our muslc teacher ln second grade the boys all went on a bee catching spree that caused both trouble and excrtement Mrss Sherrff put up with us that year and Mrss Pow n was our musrc teacher Thus was the year that Dmrthy Mae Scott Ruth 'vfrller Charles Reeves Duane Smrth lames Tatreau Donald White Billy Prock Delbert Powers and Eva Howard came to our school We lost Janell Bryan Mrss Phelps was our thrrd grade teacher and she about decxded to qurt teachrng untrl we became fourth graders the day the boys locked themselves rn the old cho l bus box out on the playground and the girls under the threat of a beating wouldn t tell where they were We lost Woody Van Eaton and gamed Max Stady Wanda thrrty four Mrss Chrrstcnson was our musrc teacher Our fourth grade teacher Mrs Nelson was really floored the day Wava Peeler walked rn and showed her a huge lock of harr that had been yanked out lust above her forehead It seemed that Wava had been domg acrobats on the teetcr totters and had come too close to the ground Mxss Chrxstenson was our musrc teacher agarn thrs year We gamed Stanley ordan and lost Gladys Mae Strcham and Edna Kmcard Our fifth grade was hrghlxght d by the entrance of Damel Boone to our class Of course the teachers all called hrm Lyle Lesher Thrs year we lost Evelyn Smrth Brlly Prock Max Stady Tommy otewart Azerle Gardner and Merle Zack Our teacher thus year was Vhs Clayton and our musrc teacher Mxss Chrrstenson Our srxth grade was marked by the tornado that ap peared durxng the year Maybe rt was the cause of losmg Duane Smrth Donald Whxte Charles Reeves and Lela Mae Glasgow surprnse was that we all passed our erghth grade exams and were promotfd to hgh school Fourteen of the orwrnal twenty mne of the begmmng class were rn this group Our freshman year our class totaled got a surprxse ourselves freshman rmtmatron Phyllrs Darland wa Homecomrng ueen quite an honor for a freshman Our sponsor was Mrs Huntmg Our sophomore year took on a slrghtly drfferent color We really got into the swrng of thrngs urte a few of the class got rn the habnt of skrprmg schol but not many got caught ln the act We were rn charge of fresh man rnrtlatron thrs year not the vrctrms and we really took adxantage of the sltuatron Our pnde and joy was our hot seat It gave a slrght electrrcal shock to any one who sat on rt and they dndnt srt very lorg Our most rnterestrng class was brology It mcluded field trrps, prcmcs and chxh suppers Our Chnstm s tr e was the brggest and best decorated tree rn school It was so tall that lt overlapped at the cerllng Fred L ohrson our sponsor and brology teacher helped us as a project of our brology class to plant two Red Maple trecs on the lawn rn front of the hrgh school We gamfd Evelyn Stotts and Phrllrp Foster but lost Charles Golden Lols
