With countless days of rehearslnff The S Band adds enthuslasm and spirit First Row S Tosl M Moroney G Farmer S Davis W Schold M Pierce E Stearns C Peterson C Vendt R Todd B Anderson L Rustay L Daggett M Fenlon C Ramsey C Donohue Second Row D Schoenfeldt R Shaw R Jewell R One of our busiest organizations durmv the past year was the hlgh school band consisting of about forty members from both the Junior and senior high levels theless worked out a satisfactory system of early morn mg rehearsals After becoming oriented to this schedule we elected the followm officers Duncan Brown, Presi dent, Lois Daggett X106 President, and Linda Rustay Secretary Treasurer At weekly meetin s the officers and band director, Mr Iorne Ford made plans for the group In September the band marched in a gala parade preceding the two day Women s Club Fair Through the cooperation of the other musical groups and the gen eroslty of Shrewsbury residents the annual Music Asso cxation Drive accomplished its alms Carrying out its traditional role durlnv football season the hand at tended all home games and helped to make the Thanks Kimball J Ponte R Daggett H Fuller I Delaney F Ander son D Hubbard W Johnson E Casey C Bell .l Sweeney .l Ponte P Wlvagg .l Hedqulst E Sear M Relman Third Row J Dulce R Slmes A Tripp: D Brown P Steinberg giving pep rally an enthusiastic occasion Winter 3CtlV ities included numerous assemblies, both here and at other Shrewsbury schools The annual Christmas Con memorable experience for all Most of the band mem bers participated in the Central Division All District concert where thev made new friends and contributed to either of the two excellent instrumental groups Sew eral students received the great honor of bemg chosen for the Massachusetts All State Band which performed at the Worcester Auditorium Sprmv brought a perform ance at the North Shore School, a Pops concert and the Music Festival at Tantasqua Ref ional High School All in all the bands first complete vear at the new high school was one of innovation, inspiration, and promise for the future D Black D Pruneau S Degon .l Sherman G Rogers D Prunler Y C 0 I l Q 0 o O .
