OFFICERS COMMANDER TIMOTHY A. KOK UNITED STATES NAVY V ' X S, , 'A 1 4 ' ,,,- K I' ,1 ,a N Commander Timothy A. Kok is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was appointed to the United States Naval Academy by President lthen Congressman1 Gerald R. Ford, and graduated with a Bachelor of Naval Science degree and a commission as an Ensign in 1970. Commander Kok's sea assignments before reporting to COMPHIBRON 6 as CSO include: USS FISKE QDD 8421 as MPA and CIC Officer, USS LASALLE QAGE 31, USS PIEDMONT QAD 171, USS CONYNGHAM QDDG 171 as Engineer Officer, USS PORTLAND QLSD 371 as Operations Officer, USS MONT WHITNEY QLCC 201 as Executive Officer, and USS NEWPORT as Commanding Officer. Ashore, he was Operations and Plans Officer on the staff of COMPHIBRON 6. Commander Kok's awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal lthird award1 and the Navy Achievement Medal as well as numerous service and campaign awards. Commander Kok is married to the former Susan lane Handy of St. lohnsbury, Vermont. They reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia. 5 11
