LtCol D. R. McGinnis Lieutenant Colonel Dwight R. McGinnis, Jr. was bom on 15 November 1946 in Brooklyn, New York and was raised as a Navy junior until his attendance at Villanova University in 1964. Graduating in May 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, LTCOL McGinnis was com- missioned via the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Program in July 1969. Following graduation from The Basic School and the Unit Supply Officer Courses, Ltcol McGinnis was transferred to the Republic of Vietnam where he served as the Supply Officer for Vietnam where he sewed as the Supply Officer for 5rd 8 Howitzer Battery, Regimental Supply Officer for 11th Marines and Supply Operations Officer for 5rd Marine Amphibious Brigade. Transferred to 1st Marine Air Wing in July 1971 he served as the Marine Corps Prop- erty Officer for MAG-12 until returned to the states in December 1971. His next assignment found him at Headquarters Marine Corps where he served as the Administrative Assistant to the Quartermaster GeneralfDeputy Chief of Staff for Installations and Logistics and as Logistics Plans Officer within the l8cL Department. LtCol McGinnis was promoted to Captain in February 1974. Transferred from Headquarters Marine Corp in May 1975, he attended Army Airborne Training at Fort Benning, Ga. prior to attending Amphibious Warfare School at Quantico, Va. Upon completion of AWS hejoined Force Tr'oops,f'Second Force Service Support Group in August 1976 where he served as the Operations Officer for Brigade Service Support Group-6, Logistics Support Unit-58, and Brigade Service Support Group-4. Addition- ally, he served as the Group Supply Officer and Assistant Supply Support Officer. ln Decem- ber 1978 he was transferred to 5rd Marine Division where he served as the Assistant Division Supply Officer, and the acting Division Supply Oflicer. Promoted to Major in January 1980, he was transferred to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island where he served as Assistant Depot Supply Officer and Director of Services Division within the Supply Department. LtCol McGinnis attended the Armed Forces Staff College from August 1981 to January 1985. His next assignment found him at Headquarters, United States Central Command where he served as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Logistics and Security Assistance, as a Logistics Plans Officer, and Exercise Coordinator. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in July 1986 hejoined Headquarters, Second Force Service Support Group Headquarters, Second Force Service Support Group in August 1986 and served as the Group Exercise Coordinator, G-Z5 Training Officer, and Supply Support Ofhcer before assuming command of MEU Service Support Group 26 on 20 August 1987. Lieutenant Colonel McGinnis' personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat Navy Achievement Medal, and numer- ous Unit, Foreign, and Service Decorations. LtCol McGinnis has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Webster University. SHIP'S Lieutenant Commander james R. Miller Lieutenant Commander Janes K. Miller graduated from the Naval Academy in 1975 and was assigned to the USS BARNEY CDDG-61, homeported in Norfolk, Va., as the CIC Officer from 1975- 1978. Ile then attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Mon- terey, Ca., receiving a Masters Degree in Computer Systems Management in 1980. His first department head tour was on the USS HEWITT CDD-9661, as the Combat Systems Officer from 1981-1985. He then was assigned to the USS CHARLESTON QLKA-1131 as First Lieutenant from 1983-1985 From 1985-1986 he was assi ned - 9 to COMPHIBRON TWELVE as the Combat Systems Ofiicerflrirst Lieutenant.
