Leaders Class program, Lieutenant Colonel Schmidt attended the Basic School and was initially assigned to the Second Ma- rine Division in November 1969. He was to the Fleet Augmentation Program at Marine Corps Base. Lieutenant Colonel Schmidt reported to 2d Force Service Support Group in August '1985 for duty as the G-3 Plans Officer. He assumed command of MSSG-22 in March 1987. I its personal decorations include: loint ServiceCommendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V, Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star and the Combat Action Ribbon.
