Shaw Seam Wazng In the fall of the year 1950 40 students started their freshman year in high school. There was quite a bit of confusion the first few days but we finally settled down to a normal school life. Our class president for the year was Ken Himes, vice president Bob Wachtel. Our class adviser was Mrs. Junkin. On initiation we felt like and looked like people from Mars. But all in all I think we had a better time out of it than the Sophomores did. We had a stand at the Athletic Carnival that year. But I donit think we made too much money. Our freshman assembly was pretty good considering the time that was spent on it. It finally came time for the close of school and a group of happy and carefree kids prepared for a wonderful vacation of swimming, picnics, etc. But only too soon vacation was over and it was time to start our sophomore year. This year our class officers were Don Geib, President. Ken Himes Vice President. Having lost Mrs. Junkin for our class advisor we had Mr. Tucker. We gave the freshman quite an initiation that year. But I don't think too many people were hurtg at least I hope not! We had a few bake sales and other things to make some money that year. We chose our class colors which were blue and gold. Our class flower was the yellow rose. Some of the students got class sweaters that year which were blue and gold also. After quite a bit of argument we finally chose our class rings. By the way, they were really sharp. I Before we knew it another school year had rolled around and we went on our way for a summer of fun and relaxation. We started back to school that fall of 1952 with sunburned faces and our heads filled with summer memories. Our class president was Ken Himes and Sandra Miller was Vice President. But Sandra had to leave us so Don Geib took over. Our class adviser was Mr. Glasgow after losing Mr. Tucker. We gave our Junior play, Ready Made Familyn. It was a big success. We had a real fine time at rehearsals. We got our class rings that year and for a while we were the center of attraction. But I think the thing we will always remember is the Junior-Senior Banquet. With the help of Mr. Glasgow and the hard work of the students I think we had one of the loveliest banquets ever given. Before long it was time for summer vacation again but this one would be the last for a long time to come. We started back to school feeling just a little bit proud because after all we were seniors. Our senior play, Grandma's Best Yearsn, was given in the new auditorium that year. It was a big success. We gave some banquets and we also picked potatoes to make some money that year. I think picking potatoes was the job we disliked the most. What a bunch of stiff kids. Our class Motto was: Today we followg tomorrow we lead. The juniors gave us a very nice banquet and we also had a fine time. On graduation day you never saw a sadder looking group of students because we knew that we would seldom meet again in later life. We had a wonderful time on our senior trip and when it was all over we went on our separate ways to take our place in life's busy web.
