Presenting . . Coach Anderson . . The l946 Hi-Lo presents a new teacher in Shorts- ville High School this year, Howard Anderson, When Coach Anderson was in high school, he participated in all sports. After graduating from high school he attended Syracuse University. There he concentrated on two sports . . basketball and baseball, Coach Anderson has the distinction of having been captain of the baseball nine in his senior year. i Coach tcught seven years at Chenango Central School before coming to Shortsville High, Last year at that school he instructed two very good teams. The football tecm was undefeated and the baseball team won b and lost 2 Both boys and girls soon became interested in the new coach This may have been because of the lack of such an instructor in the last three years but more likely it was because of the coach s unus ual manner Coach has a way which everybody like He is fr endly to all and yet very quiet He has introduced everal new sports in his gym class e volley ball crchery and Juggling Coach has been vy ell received not only by our school but also by the re t of the league member who cons der him a a very competent instructor After x orking all day in school he drives to his home in Waterloo Mrs Anderson has been ill in the Waterloo Ho pital most of the year and Coach has to take care of their three year old daughter The e factors niade his first year at SHS very dis couraging Another factor was the lack of mater ial caused by the absence of a phy ical instructor in the last few years ln viev of all the hardships that he has gone tnrough Coach Anderson has done a magnficent Job There is an expectation of better teams to come in tie future with the able guidance of our new in structor Howard Anderson xl A v . . . 1 - - 1 S. i i A . .
