' CLASS HISTORY . . The year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty eight the last year of prosperity and the first year of the twelve that were destined to produce the Class of 1941 May it be remembered To follow a practise of history our Class also had monuments though imaginary to mark our highlights The first monument erected 1n the vicinity of the Pre Primer room might have stated The Class of 1941 born here September 1928 the future of these thirty unpredictable their spirit and ambition will determine the future Thus we started on a long lourney wh1ch if all went well was to be com pleted in twelve years During the first eight years of our toil we encoun tered both hardships and enloyment We had many parties including pic nics out on the ball diamond yearly visits from Santa Claus Valentine box es and at the close of our sixth year we were entertained at Maley s cot tage Then having entered Iunior High we were given two parties a year by our faithful advisors Mrs Harp and Mr Broomfield Although we lost some of our original members along the way others had Joined us Some pupils entered High School in Ianuary because they had proved themselves capable during the first portion of the way Among those we lost were Ioyce Peters Almerln Dykeman and Bernice Gallahan The second marker stands on the helghts of the Eighth Grade overlook 1ng the first eight years Engraved thereon may be read The doubtful future of Pre Primer has turned to fruitful reality Changes are apparent The enrollment is 36 The first scholastic payment has been made the Be gents Board more difficult payments are to follow May there be no de faults Having entered High School we found both our subyects and interests different Miss Bentschler acted as our advlsor through this difficult year where we lost no one but had many pupils Joln us for the remainder and most difficult part of the task The next two years were spent lett1ng off and Soph Hop and Iunior Prom We being the first class to have a formal Soph omore dance transformed it into a patr1ot1c navy dance and the following year 1ourneyed into a lungle for the setting of our Iunior Prom having Mr McKerr and Miss Bentschler as advisors We then started on the home stretch our Senior year MISS Iohnson and Mr Henderson have guided us through these last forty weeks These weeks have been spent cramming providlng entertainment for our underclassmen with Vic dances the Senior play Among the Stars and our Senior ball the Senior Sea Swing The end of our building has been reached The following are charter members Buth Chambers Marcia Hmz Iane Kerins Bette King Priscilla Preston Leone Stlnson Phyllis Walborn Rita Walters Hiram VanEtten Bob Hoag Dick Mack B111 and Guy Turner Bill Holdforth and Karl Hixson A short distance away we see another monument bearing a dedlcation to the unity of the Class lt reads To our government of four years it has been active representative and followed implicitly by the entlre Class Their resolutions of holding a Soph Hop Iunlor Prom and a Senior Ball and other recreatlons were fruitful The handling of the treasury was above reproach Our motto ln unity there 1S strength and progress The final inscription transmlts this message 'Here ends the secondary training of the Class of 1941 here memories are born memories of good companionship exciting carefree days and gratitude to a Faculty helpful wise and friendly The Class has finished its building as a group From here the surviving twenty five must build separately Let the structure be straight and beautl ful and reach toward heaven We know the foundation IS solid I - I , , 1 , 2 1 I - I - , . 2 . .
