Thtrteen years ago back tn l927 twenty one of our present number of thtrtv three gathered together for the flrst t1me w1th1n the portals of Shorts v1lle lllgll School The or1g1nal number grew decreased and varled wtth the years untll we became establlshed as the un1t that now can rtghtfully b called the Semor Class of 1940 lncluded 1n our ranks are scholars athletes dlplomats and mus1c1ar a Well rs mdolents But we as a group do not vary a great deal from our predece sors Durlng our career we have had dances parttes club meetlngs and o Jam attons wrthm our ranks that others before us enjoyed but We prlde out elves or the fa t that our s enloyed just a l1ttle more success than any of t other For example our Semor Dance was Well attended by the townspeo ole and by folk from the netghbormg v1c1n1ty Thls was not only a succes the e four years we have held Class partles that have ass1sted us tn defraylng the expen es of our Class The proceeds from these part1es were used to e tabhsh our H1 Lo on a sound basls ln the Wlnrer of our Iuntor year our Class held a Iuntor Prom wh1cn drew an 1mmense attendance Th1s year the Senlors went old fashloned by hav1ng a hayr1de and a theatre party Journeylng at an outrageous speed to Canandalgua and home ln the same evenlng As our happy and Joyous group Wends towards 1lS partlng days We loo! back Wlth pronounced prtde upon our Class comparlng It to others before and after Our assoc1at1ons our fr1ends our teachers w1ll long be remember ed as foundatlons upon wh1ch we s1ncerely hope to butld and contlnue our future hfe As our Class prepares to leave we reahze more than ever what our school hfe has meant to us Tnus IH the blue dusk of an early Summer nlght We contemplate our leavmg sad 1n the soft twlllght 5 ff. 9 I I I I - ' ' ' ' e ' , , ' , 15, s .1 ' . , , F 4 .Z . 4 , I .
