'ffit :Q ig . Experimentation vvas the mood of the day. Everywhere Shortridge students observed change and the testing of nevv ideas. This vvave of experimentation appeared at the Ridge as the nevv Innovative Program for freshmen and sophomores. Juniors and seniors became involved in independent study. Job sampling gave students opportunities to see hovv it is in areas of work that they might decide to select as future careers. Each student of Shortridge also ex- perimented with their lives. They experi- mented with Afroes, long hair, beards, and different religions, in an effort to find their own identity.
