Girls enjoy Working together and preparing for the days when they will be cook- ing for their families. Insect collecting and the debate team are two more examples of ways of gaining practical experi- ence through student interests. Each year a student is chosen to visit the United Nations in New York where he may study this vital organ in action. The selection is made on the basis of citizenship, excellence in history class, and knowl- edge of the workings of the United Nations. Sharon Gordon. Admit Eager Assemblies Shortridge students have enjoyed programs fea- turing everything from trips around the world by jeep to spirited and noisy pep sessions, A series of lectures was presented DY Frank M. Liddle, nationally known for his work with teenagers. The Indianpolis Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Izles Solomon gave its annual concert in December. Two of the most popular programs were those sponsored by the Fine Arts Association, the Singing Hoosiers and Ted Bumiller's lecture, Around the World in fl Jeep. Many auditoriums were planned and presented by SHS students and departments.
