The 19 7 Annual For many years, Shortridge High School has been known throughout the country for its high academic standards and well-rounded program for college preparation. The inclusive and broad schedule of extracur- ricular activities offers further pursuit of class- room studies and opportunities to join with stu- dents of similar interests for fun and service. The athletic teams have brought fame to our 'school and continually have Won recognition. When the city All-Sports trophy was originated three years ago, it made provision for excellence in all sports. Shortridge teams won the first two legs on the trophy and are continuing to excel in each field, whether the sport is a major or minor. The faculty has trained us to make practical application of our courses, guided us in choosing careers, added life to our required subjects, and prepared us for college entrance. National recog- nition through scholarships and the 65070 of the senior class who enter college also illustrate the success of the above average academic standards which for so long have been a part of Shortridge.
