Introducing the latest styles for teenagers-Jill Su-eet, dressed for the early, early morning-Charles Cosand and Jean Edmond, wearing the typical school for a Circus Night With the girl on the flying trapeze to meet patrons at the door, Shortridge was transformed into a circus through every hall and room as the Family Frolic took over the school one night in November. Under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weaver, the PTA-sponsored affair brought to- gether the work of parents, students, and faculty members for its traditional stand. Balloons. animal figures, and all the established circus motif set the scene. The gym was turned into a midway lined with games, while outside a gorilla roamed the halls advertising the mystery monkey jungle. In the cafeteria, the evening started with the circus diner where a turkey dinner was served. Later it was turned into a runway for the latest fashions as modeled by Shortridge students. The music department actually fired up a show in the auditorium with Annie Get Your Gun. With all the songs, picturesque costumes and a rifle, the show had a realistic touch. All together, every booth, show, and display contributed to the circus of events which brought profits to Shortridge through the Family Frolic.
