git! Scouts L-.gilt Hi Tri girls are junior members of the Y.W.C.A. and have an opportun- ity to use the facilities of the cen- tral Y.W.C.A. World Good Fellowship week was observed from November 11 to 17, during which time five Hi Tri girls attended meetings of all the high school Hi Tri clubs. Erma- jean Krampe and Marian Myer at- tended an All-City Inter Club Coun- cil meeting held the iirst of the year. Miss Dale Waterbury is sponsor. At monthly meetings, mem- bers have had several interesting speakers who told of their exper- iences in South America. At the Christmas party a nativity play was given. Co-sponsors of the club are Miss Loree Maranville and Mrs. Cena Morgan. Organizing the Senior Girl Scout Club into a national troop was the club's main project this year. Mem- bers made favors for the children at Riley Hospital, and heard a series of talks on various Helds of vocations and work. Camping overnight at Dellwood is an annual spring occa- sion of the club. The club is a chapter of the Girls, Athletic Association of Indiana. To become a member a girl is required to have from 250 to 500 points in various extra-curricular sports. Five hundred points are need- ed for membership, and 250 points are needed to become a candidate. Mrs. Mary Treichler is sponsor. It is one of several groups of the Camp Fire Girls. An all-city meeting is held once a month. During the past year, the girls enjoyed a Week-end at Camp Delight and were active in the Dis- trict Horizon Club's Conference in April. PHILATERON CLUB: Front row-Barbara Sims, Mrs. Mary C. They prepared sixty dozen cookies for the U.S.O. at the home of their sponsor, Miss Louise Reiter. The cookies were taken to the Union Station Service Center. During the spring semester, a murder comedy in German was presented. Membership tryouts were held each semester. - l .

Chem Club Members of the Chem Club have been enter- tained at some of their bi-monthly meetings this year with talks by Helen Snellenberger, Marion Goldthwaite, Alan Parrish, Dave Tuttle, and Francis Hueber. This year the club made a trip to the Fairmont Glass Works. The Chem Club is open only to chemistry stu- dents. Before membership is attained a biography on a famous scientist must be submitted. W. W. Johnson is sponsor of the club, which is a chap- ter of the Indaina Junior Academy of Science. Qadio Workshop Thereis always one good thing about a radio, and that is that you can turn it off, but the Radio Workshop is not so easily controlled. The main purpose of the club is script Writing and broadcasting. Most of the Shortridge part of i'The High School Hour has been handled by the Workshop. A party was given during the spring semester in a drive for membership. The pros- pects listened to recordings of previous programs. 'S
