Mrs. Eugenia Hayden sponsors the Student Board and meets with college repre- sentatives, Miss Eleanor Dunlap is sponsor of the True Blue Club, 9B talent show, and Stu- dent Aid, and advises new students, and Miss Ruth Lewman is director of girls' vocational guidance and acts as freshman advisor. If a student is absent the attendance desk handles the absence. Here excuses and cuts are taken care of, absence reports compiled, and transfers checked. Did you lose a mitten or a scarf? Do you need help? These things, and more, may be found in the office. Seniors can learn their class rating and credits, and check college ap- plications and certificates here. Twelve week tests are compiled and recorded by the office staff, and Dr. Hull, Mr. Hadley, and Mr. Van Voorhees have their headquarters in the office. His personal in- terest in the students and the school is shown by the many extras our popular principal has added to his regular duties as head of the teaching staff. Dr. Hull is chairman of the Curriculum Committee of Indi- ana High School Principals and a member of the Curriculum Committee of the National As- sociation of High School Princi- pals. Filling out college recommen- dation blanks is only One of Dr. Hull's many contacts with Short- ridge students. He acts in an ad- visory capacity for students and their parents in program plan- ning, vocational opportunities, and personal problems. Inter- viewing war veterans interested in high school credits has also been one of Dr. Hull's extras To further the prestige of Shortridge High School and to fully prepare her students for life in a peaceful World is Dr. Hull's goal as principal. Each semester students check their programs with busy vice- principal Joel W. Hadley, who straightens out classes and acts as disciplinarian for Shortridge. Sponsor of the senior class, he also meets parents and students in an advisory capacity. In charge of the' Shortridge budget administration and the purchasing Of instructional sup- plies, Theodore Van Voorhees, vice-principal, also helps boys and girls solve their problems and take advantage of the many opportunities offered at Short- ridge.
