JUNIOR MINUTES. .1940 CLASS OFFICERS President KENNETH SMOCK Vice-president JOAN BUSCHMANN Secretary PAT FAILIN G Treasurer VICTOR JOSE Vaudeville Chairman PEGGY TRUSLER The Junior Class officers, elected November 7, 1938, were Kenneth Smock, president, Joan Buschmann, vice-president, Pat Failing, secretary, Victor Jose, treasurerj Peggy Trusler, Vaudeville chairman. The Student Council representatives were Ann Bishop, Ann Shaw, David Savidge, and Tom Purky. Alternates, Susan Alvis and Ben Hitz. The pin and ring com- mittee Was composed of the Junior officers and Marjorie Geupel, Fred Maynard, Kurt Vonnegut, and Althea O'Hara. The winning act of the Junior Vaudeville was, Rhythm and Rhyme of '39 , sponsored by Miss Kathryn Thompson and Walter Geisler. The co- chairmen were Lucy Peterson and Betty S-taudt. The other act chairmen were Elinor Hess, Georgia Douglass, and Pat Denham, Mary Lucas, Nick Smyrnis and Carol Hawkins, Ben Hitz and Kurt Vonnegut, Teddy Beallg and Alice Robinson and Betty Jean Ruth. The intermission acts consisted of an organ solo by Joe Levvisg Dick Carson and his musical Woodpileg Natalie Ratliff, Suzanne Queisser and Margery Little, accordianistsg a band number, and Allen Guthrie and Barbara Moore, dancers. The individual awards went to Shirley Pierce and Dick Pierce, Dick Carson received special recognition. The success of the Vaudeville was due to the concentrated efforts of Peggy Trusler, chairman, and Mrs. Nell Merrick Thomas and Enoch Burton, class sponsors. On Honor Day, May 19, 1939, the Junior oiiicers presented trophies to the Seniors who had achieved a perfect A plusy' record. Senior Student Council representatives were Ann Shaw, Mary Gloss- brenner, Marvin Borman, and Kurt Vonnegut. Alternates were Peggy Trusler, Tom Purky, and David Baerncopf. Pat Failing, secretary.
