OWENS Rome, Georgia I bring to the members of the Senior Class most cordial congratulations on the eve of your graduation. You have honored yourselves and your Alma Mater by the splendid way in which you have made its ideals a part of your growing personalities. Your interest in the discovery of truth, especially of the larger truth that shall make men free, your devotion to the highest standards of worthy effort and of honorable achieve- ment, and your willingness to become the servants of great causes will remain con- stant in our appreciation. You may be sure, therefore, that as you leave this Hill Top, our abiding interest will follow you into your chosen field of life work. This generation needs the type of trained and constructive leadership which you possess. You will soon take your place in the ranks of our Alumnae. Along with them, it will be your privilege to exemplify the principles which have characterized our community life here; the virtue of hard work, the spirit of fair play, of tolerance and of open-mindedness, faith in the triumph of social justice over individual selfishness, and a belief in the divine joy of living, here and hereafter. As often as you can, come back and renew the happy associations of these four years. May the Seniors of 1935, because of their four years of work and play on Shorter Hill, have the rich, full lives possible for the college women of today. MILDRED R. MELL To the Class of ' 35 I offer my congratulations and wishes for an inter- esting and happy life. May the Shorter Spirit Never Dead keep you in close touch with your Alma Mater and the friends you have made in college.
