CURRICULUM One among the several tests given to drivers' education students is the measurement of an individual's field of vision. After advancing to upper classmen the luniors have an opportunity to take a wider variety of sub gects ln the lunlor English class one receives back ground in American literature ln newswrvtmg creative writing and other English courses open to a lunior the student obtains a background in gournalrsm along with the regular English course Other required sublects for tumors are American history and physical education Juniors have the opportunity to choose at least two of several elective courses ln the field of science he may take biology the study of plants and animals or chemlstry a basic study of matter The language department offers further study in French Spanish German and Latin plus an op portunlty to start a new language The mathematics department offers two advanced semester courses algebra and solid geometry enriched with analytics lf one chooses to take a course In industrial arts he can take woodshop mechanical drawing or architectural drawing In business education a stu dent has an opportunity to learn typing bookkeep mg or stenography Band and orchestra offer the chance to develop ones musical talents ln art classes one acquires a basic appreciation of color combination and designs For those who would like to increase their reading speed Shorewood offers a rapid reading course The tumor year is most Important because plans for training in one s future vocation or profession enter prominently into the choice of sublects 'it Gerry Glese operates the bandsaw to demonstrate various manuevers and patterns easily obtained with the wood shop s power tools 4 Maw symiwf W -B ' s ei. 1 - I ' . . , , . . . r ' . . .
