Weak The 1944 track was strong in the high hurdles, sprints, and broad jump, but lacking distance men and outstanding performers in the field events, the Greyhounds were unable to rank higher than fourth in the suburban conference Outclassed in league competition, the cinder- men took fourth place in the suburban relays, fourth place in the sextagonal meet in Racine, and won another fourth in the pentagonal com- petition at Wauwatosa. Two Greyhound singles players and one doubles team entered the state sectional tournament held at Wauwatosa. Greyhound divot diggers, under the tutelage of Coach Ole Gunderson, will strive to recap- ture the suburban crown lost to Nathan Hale last year. Power-laden with a veteran squad, Crimson teetoppers showed promising form by winning early dual meets from Rufus King, East, and Whitefish Bay. Tom Larkin, Stuart Allen, Roger Kuehl, Bob Deahl, Ed Higgins, John Balthes, Elmer Jaeger.
