. Plans for junior class activities and projects are discussed at the frequent meetings of the class officers and adviser. They are, from left: Joyce Peterson, treasurer, Jody Burchinal, vice- presidentg Rick Fish, president, Nancy Wildermuth, secretary, and Mrs. Joan Empfield, adviser. Crystal Twilight Highlights Junior Class Activities Shoreline's junior class of '65 started the year with initiative and spirit. The juniors, interest in their progress was proved when they placed second in the activity card sale with 88 percent. Class officers, having been elected in the spring of their sophomore year, brought new and different ideas to the class. With Mrs. Joan Empfield as the class adviser, the officers were Rick Fish, president, Jody Burchinal, vice-president, Nancy Wildermuth, secretary, and Joyce Peterson, treasurer. The Junior Prom highlighted the year's activities. Committees were formed several months in advance to organize and decide on a theme and appropriate decorations. On Dec. 7, the class i' Denotes Honor Society of '65 presented Crystal Twilight. The Shoreline audi- torium became a wintery forest decorated with a large pine tree, pine boughs and blue lights. At the last basketball game of the season against the Edmonds Tigers, a contest was sponsored by the seniors to spark school spirit and sup- port. The class with the highest percentage of students present was awarded the Cove for one week. The juniors, demonstrating the loyalty of their class, finished in second place, losing by only a slight margin to the seniors. The junior class of ,65 was indeed an active part of the Shore- line student body. Besides supporting Spartan activities, the class achieved a commendable academic standing with 45 juniors enrolled in the Honor Society. JUNIOR SHUTTER SHY-PAGE 57
