airfare chool started off with the idea of putting last year's transi- tional phase behind us. Our goal was to get Back to the Scottish Highlife . The overall feeling among the classes was that we were now all Scots. Most of us felt that we could finally move on to gaining back some of the spirit we had lost along the way. Gur year started off with the first dance held at Shorewood, which also hosted the first brawl. Although the bad blood would continue among-some, the rest of us tried to extend the social ties to Shorewood, although the rivalry seems to becoming more intense. r During school hours, students could be found more often in classes, since the attendance policy became so strict this year. Notes could no longer be forged, and making up hours became a habit for many Scots. Weekends became the refuge and brought relief from the anx- iety filled week before. Fridays were great days to plan for the weekend's activities, which included parties, dances, movies, and sleeping in. Even the teachers looked forward to the weekends. As we look back on 87-88, we see a year of growth, of increas- ed friendships, and of increased Scottish Pride and Spirit. 58 Student Life
