154 Sports as My ur first year of AAA. Everyone knew it would be challenging, but no one really expected such fierce com- petition. Coaches pushed players ' harder than ever before, believing that those efforts would pay off in the long run. However, despite the hard work and dedication, SC had a very tough time maintaining it's winning traditions. Football managed early wins over West Vancouver, Stadium, and Everett, yet lost the rest of their games, usually by very small margins. This pattern emerged through the entire fall season, as each team struggled against tough WESCO opponents. Our Scottish pride was the only thing that kept a lot of us going in the tough times. Girl's Swimming, however, finished a strong eighth in State Competition, and the Girl's Soccer finished third in Wesco, disappointing because of their high expectations, but good nonetheless because of the competition. Volleyball and Tennis had disappointing seasons, but both look to be much stronger next year. A Winter sports continued the struggle. Basketball teams practic- ed and played hard trying to prove Shorecrest's mettle. Wrestlers once again proved they are among the toughest athletes at SC, while Boy's Swimming strived to stay afloat in the new con- ference. The gymnasts went down with early season injuries, in- suring an uphill struggle the rest of the season. Springlsports had not started at this writing, but you can bet by the time their sports rolled around, they knew exactly what they were up against in WESCO. Some schools might have just given up, but not us. We used the hard lessons learned to prepare us for all of the following seasons, and we heaved a collective Wait till next year! Y5w 9' K Clk Z!
