P ,. A V'-' HIGH SO DS The Orcadians, a group of 51 auditioned singers, performed for Ridgecrest and Kellogg, in ad- dition to singing or the Shoreline Retired Teachers Association. As well as their regularly scheduled events, they also traveled to SLCC for its an- nual festival, and down to Portland to compete in the Best of the Nortwest Festival. While there, they stayed with students from the Gresham High School Choir. On the way down to Portland, they stopped in Olym- pia for their annual studio recor- ding session in which they pyro- duced a record of some oft eir favorite work. As with all groups, they need- ed to raise money through fund raisers, this year using the City Lites coupon books. 'Q HI H TONES dd 1 lil The Chansons group is made from the most advanced singers at SC, all of whom either sing in the Orcadian Choir or play in the band. The versatile group studied a wide variety of musical styles, includin vocal jazz, pop, madri als, ang other classics. Many in tie group are outstanding soloists. H PITC The Advanced Treble Choir, also known as the Women's Chamber Ensem- ble, is a group of singers who performed a wide variet of styles in music. T ey prepared performances for evenin concerts in October, Decem er, March, and june. Like the Chansons, this group also represented Shorecrest in community performances. Their presentation to Ridgecrest Nursing Home featured several soloists in addition to the group selec- tions. ln April the choir per- formed for Adjudication at the Sno-King Large-Group Choir Festival. After several years without a TenorfBass Choir, the group was revived one year ago with 11 members.
