HGH TENSIUNS 'HI HRECOG ITIO To the players, this is not a game. Chess is a serious event, a way of life. In this year's club, only a few people joined, so each player had a chance to compete. During the matches, there are five boards, with the winner of each board receiving one point. Com- peting across the State, the Scots discovered that they were doing battle in the toughest league, leading to some tense matches. Like any other team, the Chess club had it's ups and downs. stated Andy Robertson. Every year Letters of Commendation are award- ed by the SAT as part of the National Merit Pro- gram. We are proud to present this year's winners. Chessfletters of Commendation , 12 7
