As Shorecrest settled down, so did the students. Struggling this year as a AAA school, SC never- theless managed to hold her own, and with time, will see some great sports and academic achievements come to pass at this level. They then receive a certificate with their names on it. This is the second year of the program at SC, and was designed so that more students could be recognized for their academic hard work. The National Merit Scholarship Pro- gram recognized and honored outstan- ding students around the country. Over one million students compete in the pro- gram eve year, with ap roximately thirty-five Thousand gaining the coveted commended student award, and fifteen thousand earning a semi-finalist award.
