Spring came that year: the time for moist petals, God-given life, sweet air, and joy surging through thawing river beds Our friendship for life in the spring and after a partially frozen winter it grew, based upon each other and God . . . nothing else. A fresh spring melted into a hot summer. 'Life went on but our friendship faded because we hid from the sun and each other. Autumn leaves began to fall . . . orange and bright . . . yellow and golden And so we shed leaves of pride and circumstance fthough some still cling to our branchesl These leaves that sucked the life from us r are dead. Our friendship that depends on love from us is alive. And now we face a trying winter: i a time to grow even beneath the snow. And if through this winter we pass still growing with God we will have an eternal spring. Denise Due
