Speaking from experience. . . . . . Mr. Lynn and I have enjoyed and appreciated working Cross Country this year has been a great experience. Hard work, maturity and independence characterized the entire team. Miles through the woods and on the roads, repeats on the track and in the valley built a group of different personali- ties into a strong team that placed well in Metro. A good year for Coach and Athlete! i with this outstanding group of girls. We admire and respect each one of them. They worked very hard this season. Each girl had a good attitude about running and a desire to win, which they did. Congratulations girls on placing first in the All Metro Championship! This years 73 Football Team was the youngest in the league and one of the youngest ever at Shorecrest. Our inexperience in the early part of the season resulted in several setbacks by a North division opponent. As the year progressed the Team got stronger and they were a real contender the last half of the season. Proba- bly the high point of the year was a 14-6 victory over lngraham, previously unbeaten by a Shorecrest Team. A loser believes in fate g A winner believes that we make our fate by what we do, or fail to do. Happiness is Field Hockey at Shorecrest! That best describes my feelings toward this year's season and the fifty girls that participated It was a truly successful year thanks to the tremendous help of the twenty senior girls. Their outstanding achievements in advanced skills and teamwork helped inspire all of the girls to work hard. The season was highlighted with two very successful exchange weekends with the Canadians where this year Shorecrest proved more of an even match in competition I will really miss the girls that are Seniors but I know the hockey traditions that they helped start on the last three years will be carried on by a great group of Sophomores 2nd Row- l. to r.: G. For in the end the act of loving any man is the act of loving God. The good in men is all the God there is. And loving is a contribution to that good and to that only God In the beginning Earth was formed. Upon this sphere man had his beginning. Man sim- ilar to you and me but not as advanced, educated, or civilized. Man has journeyed far from primitive thinking to computerized technology, creating an easier life seeking answers to the many mysteries that confront us. And man will continue to progress, build, and conquer the unknown. We are all part of a super generation. Never before has mankind had a higher standard of living. Yet, as we wake from our soft beds inside our electrified homes, life passes by outside those shielding windows. The sun rises and warms the air. The birds sing inthe gracious abundance of trees that stand so proudly in our area. But did you ever stop to think what it would be like waking to see no trees, or birds, or even your hand stretched out in front of you. Do you see all the factories and automobiles spewing their impurities into our air? Have you ever taken a moment to ponder upon the wastes that are dumped into our waters - or of our diminishing supply of natural resources. What are we doing to improve these degrading elements in our society? lt is now our turn to solve these mysteries previous generations have plagued us with. What kind of a world do you want to pass on to our children's generation? As we step from this institution to our future, let us all show a bit more concern, respect and love to our natural surroundings, our Earth, and most of all - each other. Stan 1 4 , 1 1 ky Q .
