Enioyment is the key theme of the folk club. . . . and indoors The fire's warmth draws out the steam from a soggy ski mitten. Boots are unlaced and aching feet eased out of them. This year The Shorecrest Ski Club planned bus trips to the slopes. Many Highlanders participated in thjs sport of icy winds, stiff fingers, and the exhilaration of speed. Students prepared for this strenuous sport by do- ing special exercises at school before the ski season. The knob for the A-string is tightened to The perfect pitch for That note and the girl with shiny, long hair listens intently as she goes over the words of a ballad in her mind. Members of the Second Wintergrin Minstrel Society sang music from the land's folk history and more modern songs of contemporary events at school activities and such places as a coffee house. 17 al The folk club is one of the many interesting clubs which offers much to many students. Mr. Lynn, adviser, sings along too.
