Each homeroom has a solicitor who is in charge of distributing newspapers to his fellow homeroom memhers. A familiar scene in the Activity Room is this one, where K. Rineard, Burk- holder, R. Althea received the Daughters of the American Revolution Award on the basis other demonstration of good citizenship through leadership, dependability, and patriotism. jim was named a national runner-up in the annual Achievement Awards competition ofthe Nation- al Council ofTeachers of English. F KXKW SL fi? Displays and demonstrations in all departments of education at Shippensburg Senior High School were planned for open house in November. A guest, visiting the home economics areas, watches closely as julia Helm shows the proper method of finishing a seam. Also observing are Judy Perry, Linda Mentzer, and Miss jane E. Spangler, home economics instructor. During the first several months of school, the SCROLL staff is kept busy during activity periods taking pictures for the forthcoming yearbook. Doris Creamer and Chris- tine Reddig,junior varsity cheerleademstart to line up for a demonstration for Cheerleading Club, while Karen Hargleroad and Karen Gilbert, uarsity cheerleaders, comb their hair and fix their make-up before the picture is taken. SCROLL staff members Lucinda Zimmerman, Dorothy Long, and Lorraine Fosbre check on their identifications for the photograph. Vllatcliing these girls are some of the members ofthe Cheerleading Club. Dressed as characters from David Copperfieldu for the November open house are, in front, Ted VVise and Sharon Bender. Behind them are Mrs. Erma Thompson, English instructor, Barbara Weng- er, Sandra Jacobs, Debra Carothers, and Brenda Chamberlin. he ,I .. Highlighting the end of each yearls football season is the annual football banquet, this year held at uThe Hancliu in Chambersburg. Senior players are recognized at this affair, in the front row, seniors and the coaches admiring the cake Cdecorated as a tootball field? are Chuck Davis, manager, Ivan K. Sload, assistant coach, Gerald Huber, Alan Wiest, Howard Bly, and Patrick McCleaf. Boys in the second row are Cary Eutzy, Mike Marpoe, jim Zullinger, Bill Hancock, Ronald M. Lawhead, head coach, and Tom Cinnick. Tom Eastep, NVally Hoffmann, Walter Howland, jesse Love, and Ted Mitten are in the back row.
