'I SALLY LAWSON BURROWES Those girls who have known Mrs, Burrowes have gained more than a knowledge of biologyg they have developed a more sound, mature attitude toward life. As Faculty representative to Council this year, she has stimulated its work with a quick grasp of the situation, undaunted energy, and an ever-present warm humor. Mrs. Burrowes' desire to learn as well as to teach will long be remem- bered hy the girls who have known her personal interest and have taken part in her open class discussions, in which they could express them- selves, and were taught to understand and respect the opinions of their fellow men. O I 1 lledwatlon KATHERINE ELIZABETH READ Ever since we studied Ancient History under Miss liead in Class IV, quiet understanding and patience are the qualities which we have always associated with her. Une of the most energetic members of the Faculty. she finds time in her husy day not only to head the lfnglish Department but to super- vise the Compass as well. During the ilu epidemic, she was constantly performing services which, although unostentatious, were greatly appreciated hy those who felt the warmth of her kindness. Miss Read has respect for each girl's ideas, and at the same time guides her students toward a realization of the true meaning of education. 1
