1,9j'0 MSPAR TAN 'C President Vice Pres Secretary Trees SPOT SCRS Mr H P Bock Miss Weightman Miss Stover JUTIOR CLASS HISTORY In 1957 145 green but charming boys and girls entered High school This was the largest class in the history of the school Mr H P Bock and Mrs J P Thorn were appointed sponsors Richard Jones was elected president of the class, a position h had held when they raduated from grade school In this first year approximately 16 O0 was made at a dance An assembly pro gram was given at which the Freshmen were introduced to the sch ool, and some of their abundant talent was aired At the beginning of their second year, Clayborne Nelson was elected president During the year the class made S36 OO, most of it at a dance at which George Hal1's Orchestra was featured Although conditions made it impossible to present the assembly program which had been prepared, many of the class participated in programs given by other organizations when they entered as Juniors, a very capable president was found in Betty Campbell for this all important year. Other officers are. Vice President, Clayborne Nelson, Secretary, Betty Bartlett, Treasurer, Richard Jones Although the class had been previously represented on the athletic teams, there were even more Juniors in evidence this year. In the place of Mrs Thorn as sponsor, Miss Mary Ellen Weightman was chosen, and an add itional sponsor was selected in the person of Miss Florence Sto ver. Money was raised by numerous activities to entertain the Seniors. Some of the most profitable means were selling candy, movies, programs for basketball games, magazines, dances, and others. At the end of their third year the Juniors look back and re gard their former selves with humor, and they look forward with hope and decision.
