When we got there, the plane wasn't going to leave for an hour so I told my wife to watch the kids and I would be back in plenty of time before the plane took off. While wandering around the field, I saw a beauty shop for men. I needed a little fresh-up so I went in. Not noticing the person behind the chair I asked for a shave and a haircut. The bar- ber started rubbing my face with some shaving lotion, I thought, Boy! are his hands ever soft! Why they are just like a woman's hands! I looked up and saw MARILYN BAIRD putting the razor away I asked her how in the dickens she ever got into the barbering busine F, and how about the man she had in Shiloh a few years ago. Marilyn said that she caught him stepping out on her. She was definitely through with men except on a money making basis. I heard a plane warming up and I told Marilyn good bye and that it was great to see her and the rest of the girls and boys that I went to school with years ago. As Iboarded the plane, I felt like a million dollars. We settled back contentedly and flew back to our palatial mansion in the heart of New York City. We pretend to be asleep or sometimes we sing jesus Loves Me. I like the stories from Genesis and I've made a book with pictures about each story. There is nothing too hard for God and he sees me all the time. We try to remember our Bible ver- ses. Sometimes it's hard to be kind to little brother. He wants everything I'm playing with. jesus can help me if I want him to. I'm a fourth grader and learning to use the Bible. I don't go to Sunday School but would like to. I don't have a Bible but want one for my birthday I love jesus, because he first loved me and has forgiven the naughty things I ve done I want to please him Im a seventh grader and first one of the 322 who takes Christian Education I take lt during one of my study hall periods one day a week The first semester we learned how God s word come to us It s interesting and it s message wouldn t come from man's mind The Gideons presented grade 5 through 12 with New Testaments The more I study the more I ll learn to help others as ANN-l 5:1 if . . , . The returning veterans from the '49-'50 team were: Jacobs, Alfrey, Witchie, Wallace, Elliott, Miller, and Garrett. Also Pennell and Roberts lwho were subs last yearj, and a Freshman, Rakestraw, played with the veterans. With their hitting and pitching, Shiloh has a good enough team to advance in the tournament come next spring. In last year's tournament, Shiloh lost a thrilling extra inning game to Sulphur Springs after winning their first game over Miller City. The Coach, Mr. Gross, deserves a lot of credit on their winning. The players and fans are fully aware of the progress of the team. We were fortunate enough to have our baseball teams divided this year by grades. The Seniors worked together with Anna Mae I-Iamman as captain. The Sophomores, having more than enough for one team, broke off into two teams with Mary Kilgore and Shirley Wallace as captains of their respective team. The Freshmen chose Mary Kaylor as their captain. Much to our surprise on December 4th our gym suits arrived. The Freshmen chose green, the Sophomores, redg and the Seniors, blue. We will be wearing our suits through- out the year. Before starting basketball we had folk dancing. As winter drew near we worked up teams for our favorite sport basketball. We played together in the same manner as in baseball with teams from our own grades. jane B1ack.ford's team won our first tournament. We participated in intramural games at noon. The highlights of our basketball season were our games with Plymouth. fs x..,p1'lQg 1 if 4, ' lv fri-IE BOUNCING BOBBETTES FIRST ROW: j. Clutter, M. Kaylor, C. Schulte, N. Laser, R. Barnes, K.
