The more I turned the never ending memories over ln my mind, the more I longed to see my dear old friends once more. Since my husband was still in the lerehant Marine Corp on Lake Erie, I packed my bags and started for the rolling Hog Back Hills once more. As I boarded the train at Grand Central Station, I heard above the noise and din of voices a sweet familiar tenor note, and looking around, I saw my old time friend BILL HALLIWELL, selling green apples and wormey peanuts. Ah, yes, that boy was always a salesman at heart! As I settled myself and gazed admirlngly at the country-side, I sew a flaming streak pass the train at a speed of about one hundred miles an hour. I became curious as to what this was, and to my surprise, at the pext crossroad, IERILYN VAN WAGNER waved a hello. She was now working for the Pony Express with faithful old Paint carrying her roaring across the country. After this shock nerves, and staring at CLARK' He was running trumpet for the Bobby House lawn! I picked up the Daily News to quiet my jittery me was a huge picture of none other than HOWARD for President, and winning votes by playing his Soxers and promising baseball games on the White As the train continued whistling on it way, a small puny man with horn rimmed spectacles and a butterfly net under his arm sat down beside Turning my head I recognized DARRELL HUDSON He informed me that was now A sistant Professor of Rangalones Byprofearedth Angellsems' the 'Harvard University H I noticed that PROFESSOR HUDSON had taken a pronounced English accent When I reached Chicago, I stepped from the train to rest my legs, and who did I see but my school days chum, BETTY ROSE, decked in furs from 'Kobackersn and diamonds from Woolworthsu She was hanging on the arm of George Adams who was now a Rear admiral of the U S S ROWBOAT At long last after many pleasant surprises I arrived at the Willard railroad statioh I decided that since I had not been in Willard for years, I would stroll up to the city square, and upon arriving, who did I see but NAOMI WOLFORD, cruising down Main Street on a motorcycle, blowing a whistle I finally hailed her and found to my amazement that she was the first woman traffic cop ln Ohio After doing some almless window shopping, I entered a faghlgngble dress shoppe, and who did I find modeling gowns from Vogue but DORIS GARRETT She said that she had to go to work, as her handsome husband from Amhurst, Ohio wasn't the industrious type, and spent 511 hig time playing pool and spending her money so Ilhhaddfully decided I had better start for Shiloh lf I intended to, bri ht rg a taxi and was soon on the road On the edge of Willard 5 g re coaster wagon glided past I thought the face was familiar so I ordered the driver to stop There with six crates of e s t SS 55 2252125 igT?RiE,Dioast1ng into Willard to sell her eggs She is now Lester y wson who she said was home mlndin H t Ch , and Salvester,'the little Dawsons g es er ester the outskirts of P1Ym0Uth we topped by a truck with a flat tire to see if we could be of any help My wonderin b h 1 d DONN GASRETT fixing the tire She said that she was goxyiis Dutch Livegsgqie an that she spent her waklng hours weeding onions just two mlles gouth of Shiloh And to think that DARRELL was now a professor' 5:8 .ooeoeo 'WHGBQW of'qf' 0 -O,:Q3O..,.g of ' sift '2 ggi! 4 ' q'.!mBl' I. 2 3,g.3.5.5,5.3.3,3.3,5.5:5:3:3:::5:-:-:-:':-:-:-1-2-:-:-I-:-:111:Z:3:1:f:?:5:7:f:i:-:Ig3:Z:23:az-:-:-:-:-:-1-' , , , .... . . ,. .,...... :waz-:-:-' .455 Df- mam, 4!9 5 - ' f51j525f5555i5i555355a3agi 2gi15fQ55fE25fi WRBMEEF' ' S g15e1s:ss5a2ees5s2f ' me- ' - he S w u X V s at . 5252555 11-aa 4 on ' . fuk if 3E3X is , - - . fiiiiiwzhih ' H . fififisigfgigfssaesgigaasf fefefszifiiieff ' ' - - - - 1 - . - I - I22ii?2i23e5iis5E555EiE5E5i25 Jsisiifsisfifiii - ' . on .
