Without the badly needed services of three men who were sidehned much of the season with injuries— Mike Sterhng, Eddie Jaynes, and Mark Suminski— the team suffered. Nor could the seventh grade show a winning season. It settled for two wins, three losses, and a tie. But, say Coaches Thomas and McClain, this team shows promise for next year. Ups and downs-mostly downs— that ' s the story of the fresh- man team which finished with two wins, five losses, and a tie. Not enough players, a lack of depth, and injuries to several key men hurt the team from the beginning. Despite these setbacks, however, defense did show improvement throughout the season. The eighth grade in seven games out took three and lost 54
