HOME ECONOMICS MRS. HARRISON, MRS. McQUINN. TEACHERS In the Home Economics Department the areas of study are divided by class level. The seventh grade students cover the basic areas of meal planning and food preparation. Clothing construction and wardrobe planning are the second areas studied by the eighth grade students. These first two classes are one semester in length. At the freshman level the students may take Home Economics as an elective for two semesters. One semester is spent cover- ing food preparation, and in the second semester study is re- lated to wardrobe planning and construction. Two Home Economics Clubs are organized each year for the Home Economics students in the eighth and freshman classes. These clubs study a variety of areas related to Home Economics and sponsor social activities for the members. Since Latin is not considered a speaking language, Spanish gives the students an opportunity to study a modern speaking language. Through the use of additional materials such as workbooks, films, records, and various other audio and visual aids both the Spanish and Latin students learn the fundamental principals of a foreign language.
