SOCIAL STUDIES MRS. HARRELL Students in grade seven become earth and universe oriented by the study of GEOGRAPHY. Those students who do not take Geography in the seventh grade trace the development of civilization from prehistoric man to the col- onization of the Americas in WORLD HISTORY. In the eighth grade an intensive study of AMERICAN HISTORY offers the students ample opportunity to thoroughly familiarize themselves with their American heritage. The social studies program is completed in the freshman year by an in- tensive study of CITIZENSHIP and INDIANA HISTORY. The pictures of the five teachers of Social Studies are listed below. MR. HOME ECONOMICS MRS. HARRISON, MRS. McQUINN. TEACHERS In the Home Economics Department the areas of study are divided by class level. The seventh grade students cover the basic areas of meal planning and food preparation. Clothing construction and wardrobe planning are the second areas studied by the eighth grade students. These first two classes are one semester in length. At the freshman level the students may take Home Economics as an elective for two semesters. One semester is spent cover- ing food preparation, and in the second semester study is re- lated to wardrobe planning and construction.
