STUDENT COUNCIL We are very proud to introduce to you our STUDENT COUNCIL. Our principal, Mr. ENGLEHARDT, is the sponsor of this most important organization, which is composed of the class officers from each grade and a representative from each homeroom not represented by a class officer. The purpose of the Student Council is to develop and maintain a spirit of co-operation and service within the student body and to help promote a better understanding between the school and the community. You will find that many worthwhile projects have been undertaken and accomplished by the Student Council. MIRROR STAFF We want you to come into Room 22 and watch the annual staff at work making preparations for our yearbook, the JR. HI. MIRROR, for 1963-1964. These students are members from the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades, and in May we shall show you the result of their handiwork. We hope that you will like our yearbook as it is rather unusual for a junior high to have an annual. GRADE NINE: Dean Cowles Kenny Fish Kathy Gebhart Beth Ann Gregory Connie Motsinger Pamela Rigsby Wanda Robinson Bill Royalty John Rucker James Unger Ted Wiggs GRADE EIGHT: GRADE SEVEN: Michael Roberts John Beatty Sylvia Brown Steve Jones Shelley Pittman Gloria Roach Julia Amos Douglas Heiwig Andrea Judd Steve Sharer SPONSOR: MRS. DANNETTELLE A very important time in the year is the day that Mr. Harry Jones and his wife come to school to take our school pictures. We usually dread having our pictures taken but are always pleased when we see the results. [ 40 ]

CLUBS We want to say a word about the many other activities offered in Shields Junior High School. Because we number over seven hundred students with varied interests and capabilities, the school offers many CLUBS to challenge our interests. Because some of us are interested in acting we join the Dramatics Club and participate in the musical production given each spring. Foreign Language, Science, Home Economics, Social Studies and many other clubs are here for us to join. As you follow us to our various clubs you will see how many of us have gained extra information and help from these extra-curricular activities. SOCIAL STUDIES ' 0 JMMMH a s$.
