MIRROR 1963-1964 SEYMOUR, INDIANA We are seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students. Follow us through this door as we attend our various classes, clubs, and activities. Let us introduce to you our administration, teachers, and friends in this, our school, the SHIELDS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. [ 1 ] ■ LodinimAMoft This is Mr. CHARLES H. ENGLEHARDT, our PRINCIPAL, who is in his office every morning long before we arrive for school. He plans all the countless details so that our school may run smoothly. This is Mr. ROBERT B. BULLEIT, our SUPERINTENDENT, who administers and supervises our entire Community School system. These five gentlemen compose the BOARD of EDUCATION. They were selected for the interest that they have in the business, education, and progress of our school and city. EVERETT DONICA President DONALD ERNEST Treasurer LESTER SWENGEL Secretary GRANGER SMITH GEORGE BOWMAN [ 3 ] We want you to meet our two COUNSELORS MR. SAMUEL SINN, who capably helps our boys with both their school and personal problems. MRS. JANE CORYELL, counselor for the girls, sees to it that each girl gets suit- able guidance for her particular talent. MRS. VELMA JOHNSON, Office Secretary -Treasurer and MRS. LUCILLE WILLIAMS, Office Clerk, have so many duties that it would be difficult to list them all. Both the teachers and students go to them many times during the day for help. MRS. ANNETTE TEST spends many hours checking, helping, and guiding us toward better ATTENDANCE. iMISS WILLMA ROSE SMITH, our School Nurse, is always available when we need her professional medical advice. MRS. MIRIAM EUDALY checks our hearing and speech for any deficiency. [ 4 ] We are just at that age where much of our time is spent in eating. Our school cafeteria has a whole- some, well-planned lunch for us each day, all prepared and served by these capable COOKS: Lois Wayman, Avis Burrell, Margarette Pollert, Grace Harris, Shirley Zellner, Gertrude Gregory, and Dorothy Williams. They are supervised by Miss Carrie Ryan. Do you notice how clean, orderly, and polished everthing in the classrooms and hall are? This is due to the tireless efforts of our four CUSTODIANS: Arnold Vice, Ervan Shelton, John Scales, and Sam Emily. ,_..£=S UMlli I ' l vv r I t il 1 1 1 ' 1 1 ' I Now meet our TEACHERS.
